The fundraising activities sponsored by our Friends of The Community Library group help fund special programs, equipment, and things not covered by our budget, but contributing to the Friends is only one way our patrons may contribute. Charitable donations, memorials, and bequests help support the collections, programs, services, equipment, and operational staffing of The Community Library. The Community Library is designated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so charitable contributions are tax-deductible.
Direct charitable contributions by cash or check (made out to “The Community Library”) may be delivered in person or mailed to The Community Library, 110 Union St., Cobleskill, NY 12043.
Patrons interested in including a bequest to the library in their wills or estate planning are encouraged to contact the library director for the tax identification number to include with the bequest.
Additionally, patrons may use one of our gift cards to make a contribution in honor or memory of a person, family, or group. These cards, available at the library, provide donors the opportunity to designate whether the contribution should be used to support collection development or our building fund.
Finally, as renovation and construction continue on the annex that will nearly double our library’s size, building-related fundraising efforts will be announced here.
